In order of preference:
1) Degen 1103 (simulated analog display w/digital readout)
2) Sony ICF-SW40 (decent radio)
3) Sony ICF-SW11 (best of the low end - IMO)

If you change your mind about analog may I suggest the
Sony ICF-SW35. It is a Dual-Conversion receiver and the digital controls
are excellent. The audio is pretty nice and 3 AA batteries will last for
about 40 hours. Looks nice but most of all it is a Sony, IT WORKS!

I am in the market for a receiver with the
following criteria:
1. Analog readout only
2. AM/FM/Shortwave freqs
3. About the size of a sony 7600gr or smaller
4. Power requirements: Four AA or less

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank You
