Just saw northern lights at 7:00 est in Ky (Lat 37, Long -84).

Red at first, then white. Some curtain effect.

In town, streetlights all around.

Radio seems normal.

This was my first time seeing aurora.

I live just south of Lexington and at our location it was much
brighter then last year. I tried to capture some pix with a digital
camera and it was a bust. So I dug out the old 35mm and tried some
time lapse. We had some good Last Sudnay and Tuesday(I think). I will
drop the film off today on the way home and hope to have some good
pix. If they are any good I will find a place to post them. A friend
who lives just north of Sadieville
(northen Scott county) had never seen the aurora before and thought
the sun
had "gone nova or somthing". My wife and I took our DX398s (we each
have one)
and there was no major effect on anything from 550KHz(WKRC Cinci, OH),
through
15MHz WWV. There did appear to be a lot of noise in the 10mtr (28MHZ)
ham band,
but I didn't feel like digging out my HTX100 and listening for skip.
The lights were to rare to miss. I would love to go to Alaska just to
see them "up close and personal".

If anyone has any photo's, could you post them and let us know where
we can go to view them. I live in Texas and we never see them in the
Dallas area.

Thanks
