Touching the LCD panel causes the blurring or distortion effect on the digits that you would normally see. After checking the Yahoo newsgroup one other person responded that his R75 does not have the window either. This surprises me, since even my $5 desk calculator has a protective window for the LCD panel. So now I'm wondering if it was left off some radios during manufacture, or if this is actually a design flaw. Could owners of R-75's please reply to this post whether or not their receiver has a clear protective window over the LCD panel? I just got mine like a month ago and it has no cover I can detect. Hmm, perhaps like one poster said the lens might distort the LCD but someone I just can't see how. This is good question to ask Icom support about. Usually these things are resource based decisions. I guess they felt it was unneccessary and not worth adding. I would have never noticed it till you pointed it. Now I have to think of this and you every time I look at the display ![]() Hey wait, look at large LCD TV screens and some monitors. They have no protective plate at all. I guess for visual quality. Might apply here too. Lucky |
