= = = news:wdeld.400099$D%.45601@attbi_s51... I purchased a new Icom R-75 about 3 weeks ago, and noticed that there is no clear plastic window covering the LCD panel. Touching the LCD panel causes the blurring or distortion effect on the digits that you would normally see. After checking the Yahoo newsgroup one other person responded that his R75 does not have the window either. This surprises me, since even my $5 desk calculator has a protective window for the LCD panel. So now I'm wondering if it was left off some radios during manufacture, or if this is actually a design flaw. Could owners of R-75's please reply to this post whether or not their receiver has a clear protective window over the LCD panel? DG - Gee Wow ! You Are Right ![]() I just 'touched' the LCD and you are right the Numbers do seem to change ever so slightly; when a finger is place on them :-{ Note: The LCD is rather 'deeply' Recessed from the other Front Panel Surface Areas of the Radio. But maybe its me, my stubby old fingers have a tendancy to move about the Radio 'touching' the Knobs and Buttons ;-} It is my Eyes that are 'focused' on the LCD Screen :] I scanned the Icom IC-R75 Manual and could not find any reference to the 'fact' that it had a "Touch-Screen" Feature 8-) jftfoi ~ RHF .. .. |
