The Swiss Radio International broadcast station has stopped using short
waves and its transmitters and antennas are being decommissioned. Members of the HB9MM http://www.hb9mm.com/Index_e.htmclub station in Lausanne have been given permission to use the former broadcast station facilities and antennas, including a 62-metre high curtain array weighing 135 tonnes. The special callsign HE3RSI is on the air now until 3 December on bands from 40 to 10 metres. This is the first time the HE3 prefix has been used. (RSGB) |
