Well with your help I'm back in action. My 5000 has the dreaded keypad bounce so using the computer is great. My new computer doesn't have a serial port, I had to buy a usb serial adapter. Along with your settings I had to uninstall the serial drivers and reinstall them again and all is fine.

I haven't used the radio in quite a while so I was a little rusty.
