As an additional thought, what I did when I got the radio was to swap out the stock 6 kHz filter for a better aftermarket one that had better skirt selectivity. The original is just a bit broad at 60 dB down. Cleaned things up quite nicely. Kenwood had an improved 6 Hz filter available right from the start (YK88A1) and many buyers of the receiver upgraded to this filter at the time of purchase. My 'stock' (poor) 6KHz am filter still sits in the box that the good YK88A1 came packaged in. I don't know why I save it as it was awful. -- Brian Denley http://home.comcast.net/~b.denley/index.html |
