I just got an email from Lipyn saying that delivery of my Degen DE1103 had to be stopped because Canada customs was denying delivery here in Canada and sending shipments back to China. Has anyone had this problem recently? It's too bad, I was hoping to get my radio before Xmas. Lipyn said they would suspend all Canadian orders until Canada customs says why shipments are being returned to sender. I hope this can be resolved soon. Lipyn comes highly recommended and his prices are second to none. Maybe this will be straightened out in the new year. Canada Customs = lump of coal ![]() Sounds like BS to me. If indeed Customs were refusing access, they would have given a reason why. mike |

The reason may be that the communist Chinese have been forging UL and CSA testing certificates on some electrical devices. The last episode involved compact fluorescent bulbs. There have been fires caused by this junk. The affected bulbs (this time) are the 13 watt Mini Spiral versions. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/natio...res041202.html http://snipurl.com/b3dr This is as bad as those lead cont animated window shades they were selling a few years back and the recycled carbon from crankcase oil that was made into printer's ink and used in exported books. I had one and it actually stunk. Carcinogenic. Our governments aren't doing their jobs. |

They send you 2 for 1 replacements. I got my replacements within 2 weeks. I still am not going to install them in a a fixture that runs at night when everyone is sleeping.. |

Canada Customs has been working without a contract for some time now
and " may" be doing some "work to rule." I don't know this but it is a fairly common tactic during labor/management negotiations. Another story that was on one of Vancouver TV stations said that due to security concerns the USPS was no longer directing parcels to Calgary or Regina leaving Vancouver as the main point of entry in the west. This resulted in a horrendous backlog of parcels waiting to clear customs. Bob |
