be sure to put aside about $150 to upgrade the R75 to make it a real
nice receiver. otherwise you are wasting your money. it has some serious holes that need to be plugged. also be sure to get a used one for than $400, that will help you stay in budget, a new one will take all your money with none left over for the required upgrades. Guy Atkins did an excellent job upgrading his R75 although for the average person, they are not all required. I have worked with a properly modded 75 and can tell you what it needs in your price range. I DO NOT suggest you do all the mods yourself unless you are VERY good with surface mount work. dxAce wrote: warsteiner wrote: I like the look of the R75 and I've read a bit about it. What's your take on it? You don't really want to know my take on it. Having said that, there are those who say it's a very nice receiver. dxAce Michigan USA |
