CBS ranked right behind Fox with a 71 percent score, while CNN and NBC tied as the best-performing commercial broadcast audience at 55 percent. Forty-seven percent of print media readers held at least one misperception. As to the number of misconceptions held by their audiences, Fox far outscored all of its rivals. A whopping 45 percent of its viewers believed all three misperceptions, while the other commercial networks scored between 12 percent and 16 percent. Only nine percent of readers believed all three, while only four percent of the NPR/PBS audience did. '' [idiotic story snipped!] Gots lots more if you like... No thanks! It's quite obvious to me that a 'tard such as yourself did the study. Nice try 'tard boy... PLEASE... don't try again. dxAce Michigan USA |

Misperceptions according to who? Again, a VERY suspect source. |

Is Bill Moyers with NPR? |

-=jd=- wrote: But most likely, it's on AFRTS because the price is right and NPR is an established news source with a steady liberal slant that can be taken with a grain of salt. Though, there is one change that you may find some affirmation in. Used to be that when a TV was installed in a military/federal office, it was immediately tuned to CNN and there it stayed. The only need for a remote was for on/off/volume. However, where I work, all the big monitors are now on (surprise!) FOX. The small monitors are usually on the Weather Channel... -=jd=- Where I work they installed tv's in the cafeteria at some point and they carried CNN for a couple of years, then suddenly switched to Fox about 6 months ago. Then about a month ago they switched back to CNN. Maybe Nickelodeon is next. I don't think price is the issue. The two NPR news programs are pretty expensive (at least that's what the local affiliate tells you when it's fundraising time). Also I don't know what kind of budget constraints AFRTS operates under. Your point that NPR provides one of the only national-scale radio news feed is certainly well-taken though. Nonetheless, I think if NPR really were as biased as some on this group think, some stink would have been raised in the Pentagon. They don't have to offer four hours of news a day. Fox has a radio feed, on satellite, maybe they can switch to that. Probably make some of the posters on this thread happier. |
OK. I guess I don't really disagree
with what you're saying. While NPR may be more or less a liberal outlet, or at least have a liberal sensibility, its news reporting is more complete than mostly anything else in broadcast, and they do make an effort to represent both sides of issues which are controversial. Back when my company was piping Fox news into our cafeteria, most of their "news" coverage during the election run-up seemed to be of the "John Kerry, threat or menace?" variety. By the way, even though RHF likes your logic and reasoning (kiss of death right there), your rooster analogy was totally inapt. The rooster argument is a classic "post hoc ergo procter hoc" while mine might be judged a "non sequitur." |
