Soldering guns are almost always a bad idea.

Also note that the volume knob is a collett arrangement- use a sharp
blade to pop the cap off and then loosen the collett nut to remove the knob.
I once saw a 150 where the owner had badly scratched the front panel trying
to pry the knob off.
