Wired magazine has dedicated their March issue to what they call "The End of
Radio" -- a series of articles on digital radio, podcasting, and satellite
radio.

It's wall to wall misdirection. Michael Jackson and Robert Blake are

It's all sizzle and no steak.

If anybody wants to read about KFI, there's a big cover story article
about inside the talk radio biz in the new (April 2005) issue of
Atlantic Monthly, featuring the nightime guy there.

Trivia, KFI originally stood for "Farm Information".

Keep Farmers Informed

This sounds like Urban legend. KFI was founded by the leading Cadillac and
Packard dealer of LA, and was anything but a farm station save a brief
period early int he morning. I thought the calls, like many early ones, were
assigned in order.

But at least my urban legend fits all 3 letters.

Airplane crashed into the tower and knocked it down...two people in the
plane died.

For good sounding News/Talker try 810.

KGO is great... for San Francisco. KFI is a good news source, has a
significant quotient of local talent, like Handel, and is beautifully
imaged and produced by Robin. It is as good as they come, especially
in the local news coverage.

I can't stand listening to Bill Handel. He sounds like he is spitting
all over the microphone and desk when excited and I have heard enough
dumb things come out of that guys mouth to last a lifetime.

It is billed as a comedy show, you know.

Yeah it's "more stimulating talk radio" for the easily amused.
