Default Anyone out there using an IC-725 xcvr for SWLing?

Would like to hear your catches, mods, tips, etc.

I have purchased the maintenance manual for this rig. I think I've figured
out how to disable the attenuator that kicks in on MW reception but have not
tried it. Anyone else ever try doing this?

I've used one, but couldn't really give you any
specifics, being it's been quite a while...
Do you really need the attenuator cut out?
If you always have a readable noise floor
when not tuned to a station, and is never
dead quiet, there should really be no need to
cut out the attenuator. You don't need much
sensitivity on MW for general use..MK
