For the first time in my life I am going to write letters to the papers
of the US and maybe the world.

Go for it! Write your Congresspeople and the President, too!

Use e-mail, it's cheaper. I know, I do it all the time.

They don't listen, is the only problem...

This is un-real.

Actually, it's unpleasantly real. This sort of thing has
been happening all the time. The difference here is, Ms.
Schiavo's parents made a media circus out of this instead
of letting it take place quietly in the shadows. As is
what usually happens...
