Free XM radios at J.C. Penney
|
David wrote: Just buy $100 worth of Dorkers pants. http://tinyurl.com/6roou What's funny is, someone will buy the pants in order to get the radio only to discover, when they get it home, that it's nothing but a high tech paperweight without subscription to XM radio!! Steve |
All that means that the unpleasant discovery will have to wait for
three months....which will make it even more unpleasant. It sure is nice of JCPenney to make us all such a good "deal". Steve |

Steve In the first place, it's about the size of a Philips Cassette box. Second, it comes activated for 3 months. This is actually a pretty good deal! I just wish Sirius would develop some decent receivers. Theirs are so damned big and ugly. -- Vote for Pedro |
You mean Dockers pants? I once bought a Dockers pants at the Goodwill
thrift store and those pants wore thin in no time at all.(nothing to see here, move along now) Dockers pants are no good at all and nether are those stupid XM radios. It's a gyp deal all the way around. There is a J.C.Pennys store at Northpark mall wayyyyy up North just across County Line Road of Jackson in Ridgeland.I wear Dickies www.dickies.com pants. The blue ones, they wear like iron and don't show my pee stains so much when I pee my pants. cuhulin |

a "subscription" to AC power or a "subscription" to batteries!
TANSTAAFL. Jim TANSTAAFL? I had to look that one up! "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Anyway, if you can't find an AM or shortwave radio that works without a subscription to XM, there's something very, very wrong. I have lots of radios, and while they do require batteries or AC power, not one--and I mean not a single one--requires a subscription to XM. Steve |
Robinson Road to JR Lynch Road and I take a right on that Road going
South (South is always best) in front of the Home Depot and Office Depot and them other stores in that little strip mall area (Quality Pets pet store is there too, that is where I buy dog food for my little doggy, Chicken Soup For The Dog Lovers Soul www.chickensoupforthepetloverssoul.com is their website,my doggy eats better than I do and that is no lie.$32.00 for a big 34 pound baggy of that dog food,it last her over three months,it's the best dog food that money can buy.I don't give my doggy junk!) and I go to Greenway Drive to the wal fart supercenter store at the corner of Greenway Drive and Highway 18.Anything else? cuhulin |

I'd have a huge problem with them it if you put viable alternatives
right in my lap!!! Steve |
What's the big deal about one more (satellite
radio)? Jim Does this mean you're interested in receiving my monthly newsletter? It'll just be 'one more' subscription, after all. Steve |

Next thing we know,we will have to subscribe to the air we breathe. There

Kinda like how nearly every radio in the world is a paperweight without a "subscription" to AC power or a "subscription" to batteries! TANSTAAFL. Jim Better fewer subscriptions than more, no? If you like subscribing to things, please send me a check for 20 dollars every month and I'll sign you up for my newsletter. Steve Advertising is insulting. I prefer to pay a few bucks for the opportunity to not be insulted so much. |

Here's the thing, though....I have a lot of radios, too, and it's very rare that ANY of them are worth turning on, considering when I listen, a problem which is even more pronounced when I travel. So, to have the choices I want, and in a way no different than the magazines, newspapers, satellite TV and other services I pay for, satellite radio is the means I use to (legally!) acquire the programming I will listen to. And, as TANSTAAFL suggests, your "free" radio isn't really "free", either. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. Just buy $100 worth of Dorkers pants. http://tinyurl.com/6roou This event actually has a lot of significance. They are starting to give the radios away. I was expecting that to happen. I think you will see a variety of deals now that include free satellite radios. Soon nobody will be paying for them. And there will be all sorts of discount subscription deals too. It is a gradual move to mass distribution. |

You didn't look very carefully.
This is Sirius channel 115: On the contrary, I looked very closely. The vast majority of the programs listed there are programs that you can receive on smallest, cheapest shortwave receiver out there, using only the whip. Is this what's supposed to get me excited about Sirius? You must be kidding. And I can already hear BBC World Service News 24 hours a day, with my choice of multiple frequencies at any given time. One thing I haven't looked at yet is the Sirius channel that features military comms, amateur radio operators and so on. Can you provide a link to that channel's schedule, please? Steve |

You are not the mayor if this board. Perhaps not... but you certainly are the hawker of non terrestrial radio here are you not, 'tard boy? This is a 'radio' board for the most part, and satellite crap just don't cut it. But, for a fellow who can't read, and certainly can't tell time it probably fits your lifestyle. Steve My HF radios work great. Unfortunately, aside from a few hours a day, the programming is predominantly end-timers and prophesisers. Have you considered the possibility that you are xenophobic? I don't think I'm xenophobic. I enjoy learning about foreign peoples and cultures. In fact, that's one of the reasons why I enjoy shortwave. If you're only able to get end-timers or prophesisers for all but a few hours a day, then you are *definitely* having a problem....either with your receivers or, most likely, your antenna(s). If you'd describe the problem in more detail, the folks in the group here might be able to help you. Steve |
A radio music station here in Jackson plays some Knee Deep in Bluegrass
music every day and there are no commercials and there is another radio station here that plays Country Music with no commercials www.us963.com (us963 where God isn't dead) us963 does make some pertinent announcements from time to time about things related to us963 and upcoming events, but they are not the usual crappy commercials on some other radio stations. There are many local Jackson area radio stations,Christian,Music,Sports,Talk Shows on the radio (free to listen to Radio Stations) around here.(do a search for them if you want to) I don't really know how many of them have no commercials because I haven't ever checked them all out before.I have my favorite AM and FM Radio Stations I like to listen to.Why should I pay to listen to Radio Stations when the AM and FM Radio Stations I like the best are free. The Radio Stations around here are not slanted and biased either. cuhulin |
