... That said, I'm a patriot. I'm going to stand behind the US come hell or high water. I don't think that has anything to do with being patriotric. Idiotic maybe. |

I think you have things confused. You think that you are owed something because you patriotic. What exactly are you owed? _____________________ www.ReformUS.org |

Why don't you just go ahead and make fun of all the other folks that have different beliefs from you while you are at it? The list is long...Gays, Jews, atheists...the list goes on. Go ahead have some fun at someone else's expense. We have a second amendment that allows us to bear arms. Why did we get this amendment? Answer: to allow us to protect ourselves against the state - the same state that you choose to blindly follow. Personally I believe it is the true role of a patriot to pursue truth and liberty, because those are the principles this country was founded on. As a patriot I abhore and condemn those who lie and commit injustices in the name of this country. I will not blindly follow Mr. Bush over a cliff. |

Just to be sure, I've looked back over the thread and can't see any mention of tracy hinting that he felt "owed". All I've read is that "...patriots like me pay for people that have no loyalty to their country....". While it is true that patriots have sacrificed in order that others who *haven't* sacrificed may bitch, moan, gripe, complain and generally be a horse's ass on demand, it is amazing how that one simple fact can itself generate bitching, moaning, griping, complaining and horses asses. I didn't see Tracy asking for anything. I did detect a veiled, weird mixture of (perhaps) shame, envy and self- consciousness from both "John Verdana" and yourself... -=jd=- Thanks jd! I was wondering if they were actually reading what I was saying. I'm not against what they want to do. I'm trying to explain to them that you are either with the US or against them. Sounds like George Bush speaking. Can't somebody be for some things and against some things? You have to be 100% for America? So if America lays a huge turd, one will tell us it doesn't stink because it's an American turd? America can never do wrong if you are patriotic? There are plenty of things that you can do to show support for your country. Yeah, you can put one of those made in China yellow ribbons on your made in Japan car. I just get tired of people bad mouthing the US. Those guys are entitled to their own stance on things and I'm not complaining. I guess now if you support the US you are an idiot. Well then label me an idiot and I'm damn pround to be one! And if one disagrees one is branded unpatriotic and worthy of contempt as has been seen lately. _____________________ www.ReformUS.org |

I'm patriotic...not stupid! Am I not allowed that freedom? Is it illegal to be patriotic in this politically correct time? Oh no it isn't. I feel strongly about America too. We were the only ones in our neighborhood to sit outside at twilight and light a candle during the national recogniton for the 9/11 victims. And I was very much in favor of finding te *******s that did it to us. But I was also against the Iraq war when I saw it for a bogus reason to invade a country that had not attacked us. Does that make me unpatriotic to be skeptical to my countrie's motives? _____________________ www.ReformUS.org |
