I owned the FRG-7 sold under the Sears name. It was a decent receiver,
and a reasonably good performer in it's day. Because it's design is dated, tuning around is more complicated than it should be, the receiver has only 1 filter of average selectivity, etc. The ongoing hype surrounding the FRG-7 inflates it's image beyond it's capabilities and as a consequence it is usually overpriced on Ebay. As with any review eham reviews present the opinion of the writer. I find eham reviews useful with the understanding that not all owners have the same technical experience. |
