Default CREATING wireless interference 2.4Ghz?

Hello

I have a slightly unusual problem. I wish to try and create wireless
issues in the 2.4Ghz range. Just short range interferences. My problem
is that I live with 3 other guys. We all have portable phones operating
in the 2.4Ghz area. We also rely on a wireless network for the
internet. One of the guys phones continuously causes the internet to
drop for everyone (but himself) when ever he picks up. The drop only
lasts for about 5 seconds, until the computer can find a new channel,
but its enough to disconnect, say and SSH session. We are all very
annoyed and have pleaded with him to get a new phone. We even purchased
a 5.4Ghz phone for him to borrow (a rather expensive one I might add).
He is only living here for another four months. In the mean time
however we all have work that has to get done and he refuses to use the
5.4Ghz phone or purchase a new one himself. He says we should purchase
a new wireless card and it's not his responsibility. He says he feels
he should not have to switch to a new phone simply because we have
purchased 'inferior products'. I personally have three wireless
cards (one built into my laptop, a Centrino, another from Linksys, and
another form DLink) and he can drop all three of them. His wireless
card is some no name brand which I cannot find nor do I particularly
wish to anymore. His phone is actually so powerful then when I bring it
into my room and turn it on, if close enough it causes all my wireless
cards to make a low humming noise. No other phone in the house does
that. Therefore, every time our internet gets disconnected cause he
goes on the phone we wish to create enough wireless interference to
screw up his phone. We understand that this will of course cause us to
lose are internet connections, but we hope that after a week of him
losing his phone he will agree to the 5.4Ghz or get a new more friendly
phone.

So any suggestions on how to create this interference?
Thanks for any help you could potentially provide

PS: Please let me know if this is the wrong news group to post to.

Yep, causing deliberate interference is illegal. However maybe you could
change the power adapter on his phone. If you use one of a lower volyage,
that allows the phone to work, it will have reduced output and that maybe
enough to alleviate the problem.

If you use one that has a higher voltage output than the one that came with
it, you should also have a fan avaialable to exhaust the smoke from the room.
The phone's output will be similarly reduced and it will not cause the
problem again.

Darn power transients !!!!!! LOL

Rig up your microwave oven to operate with the door open. Just be sure to
run away from the oven after you press "Popcorn".

Screw that, open the phone and put a resistor across both the microphone
and the speaker. "What's the hell is wrong this phone? It's really quiet
now and no one can barely hear me."

Hey

Thanks for all your help. I figured it was illegal. I like the resistor
Idea though . Anyways, I will try and work something out I guess.
Thanks again
