Hi Lucky,

I am glad you are happy with the E1. I hope you don't feel bad if I
say
I am a little skeptical, so I will ask this question in the most
innocent way:
What other radios do you have/have you played with?

Many thanks for your informative reviews. They are helpful.

RK

Thanks RK.

I now own 11 radios.

1] Icom R75
2] Lowe HF-150
3] Kenwood R-5000
4] JRC NRD-525
5] FRG-7
6] Ten Tec 320-D
7] FRG-7700
8] Degen 1103
9] Nasa Target HF3 {Nav-Fax 100 in U.S.}
10] Great Cond Kenwood QR-666 that later became the R-300.
11] Eton E1

What, no SAT 800?

So, I have a sense of quality and features etc. But, I'm not a super pro
like some of the other guys in here that have been doing this for years.

Lucky

Ha. I rather don't think he needs one.

I'm curious about comparisons between 1), 3) and 4).
I already know about the audio on 2), and I'm not that
interested on 5) through 11), but the Icom, Kenwood
and JRC are the interesting ones for me.

You've still got enough radios, tho. If I had that many
around the house, my wife would probably demand that
I give a few up.

Enough radios, you say? Honestly,I dont know how many radios I own,I
never counted them before.I have two closets crammed full of old radios
and several footlockers crammed full of old radios and radios scattered
all over in every room in my seven room house and that even includes my
bathroom.I think I own at least 200 old radios and most likely twice or
more old radios. And I am not going to go to the trouble of counting them
either.

No Dewayne unfortunately. I heard to much about the terrible quality control
and wobbly knobs that come off and all sorts of other things. So, I didn't
want to take a chance on buying one off Ebay and bought the R75 with the
last $500 allocated for a radio. Perhaps one day I'll buy a brand new one
from Universal.

Right now I need to be a little tight with my money.

The $400 rebuilt ones from Universal were OK.

There are taxes on everything, especially the RIPP OFF sales taxes here
in Mississippi.I guess (only guessing) that we all do indirectly pay for
listening to radio whether we like it or not.Unless one whom is homeless
finds a battery powered radio in a dumpster somewhere.I APPROVE of
that. Some homeless folks are homeless because they want to be homeless
(maybe they know something we dont know) and weirdingly and
interestingly,I APPROVE of that too.Sometimes,I envy them.

My thoughts on the E1's,,,,,,, Too Much Money For The Amount Of
Bread.Interestingly,interestingly,at the foodstore this morning,(among a
bunch of other stuff and crap I throwed in my cart) I bought two big
loves of sandwich wheat (I know y'all Canadians hate Wheat too) bread
(yeah,Canadians,I know,I know,Bread is bad too,but I dont like anything
if it isn't bad, especially bad wimmins) ,,,,, **** on it,I have to watch
Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines movie on tb (tb,Dennis
the Menance,tb) now.Bite my arse,Canadians.
