I can attest to the effectiveness of Litz wire. I have been using 36 turns
of #36 by 12 strand Litz wire for my loopstick antennas for awhile, and it works very well. The Q of the antenna itself is so high that I can get away with using an NTE-618 varactor diode to tune the antenna circuit. Pete wrote in message oups.com... I've owned one for almost 6 monthes. It's put together well and is stable as far as its construction. I had him put a standard coax connector so I could use it with my Drake R8B. I'm no expert for sure, but it's very low noise and does the job well. It's rotating loop make listening to DX in the evening great and as a bonus it tunes down to nearly 300 khz and over 1900 khz so its pretty versiile. Regards Charlie Essex, Maryland |
