These same people who claim global warming were telling us back
in the 70's we're heading for global cooling, remember that one??

Here's clue about Science. It works by having a crowd of people
come up with all sorts of different ideas. Each person or group
comes up with a set, and the rest of the group work to tear it to
shreds. So if you go back a bit in time, before the dust has
settled, you'll find a serious scientist saying JUST ABOUT ANYTHING.

It's not what one scientist says, it's what they select as a consensus.
Listen to one scientist, and you can be listening to a total crank, like
your example in the next paragraph.

Through out earths history their have been many ice ages followed
by warming periods. One could say the earth is warming up, because
we are now coming out of a 10,000 year ice age. Man has little to
nothing to do with it. Read anything by Dr. Dixie Lee Ray, I believe
is her name, and she spells it out quite well.

Er, she was an Atomic Energy Commissioner and then Governor of the State
of Washington. So put her in the Politician category, not the Scientist
category. (And having been a state employee that that time, not a
very good one, either).

Before that, she was a Marine Biologist and then ran a museum (the
Seattle Science Center). So her expertise was in kelp or worms or
something like that. And ****ing people off. She was real good
at ****ing people off, but not very good at having a scientific
model that made good predictions. In other words, she could say
wrong or stupid things with great certainty.
