I think it's rather weird to support a President on every position he
represents, whether we agree with that position or not. He isn't God, for God's sake...just a fallible human, like you and me. That is why there is the House and Senate. By god, you are aware of them, right? Good! You passed your civics class. And, as I am in theory allowed to tell my reps what to do, I may tell them to oppose the President or support the President, depending on my opinion. The difference is that he was elected into office. Whether or not you personally believe he was elected is irrelevant unless you are a prospective dictator. Are you?. My my - you are certainly reading alot more into my statements than I ever wrote into them. Tell me more! I am so fascinating...;-) By the way, I seriously doubt that anyone who looks closely at the last two elections in the US is sure of who was elected - the evidence of either side winning is sketchy at best. This, without even getting into the question of his generalized competency for the job. On what basis are you to judge his competency? I *am* the United States, bucko, along with 300,000,000 other citizens. In the Constitution of the US, I and my countrymen and women have the ultimate supreme power to decide whether he is competent and whether he deserves to be the President. I don't know what country you come from, but here in America *we the people* ARE the basis for judging the competency of our leaders. What I am not in control of, however, is whether the rest of my countrymen pay enough attention or think critically enough to make an informed decision, or whether they just knee-jerk react to the demegoguery of the seemingly endless parade of fools that purport to be the leaders of this planet. Most of the characters on this newsgroup seem to indicate the latter. Frankly, if he's wrong, he's WRONG and we have an obligation to try to correct his path. We can argue about whether he is wrong until doomsday, but eventually we must take the lead. Please show us the facts, not rhetoric, on exactly what points he is wrong. First off, I don't owe you ANYTHING - it's your job to figure out these things on your own. Second, I have yet to see a *fact* come from the White House that they can verify - mostly it's been a smokescreen of thick oily haze. They are ones who owe us. Extraordinary claims, which they have made to justify their war, deserve extraordinary evidence. So far, no good. And sure as hell, logic is not our president's friend. I expect you to show verifiable and relevant facts from your vast international intelligence sources. You imply that your "intelligence" is superior. You expect? And who are you, Mr.SeeingEyeDog? I imply nothing. I say that the government has gone to no substantive lengths to show that their Iraq war is justified, and I am still waiting. Are you g-g-g-g-od? Are you stupid? Jeez, what a nut. We condemn other peoples of history of marching lock-step with their leaders down dubious paths, whether they be Fascist, Communist, self-styled two-bit dictators or whatever. Should we not be more circumspact when it comes to our own leaders so that we can at least try to keep the worst parts of history from repeating themselves? You obviously have no clue what it is like to live under Fascism or Communism. And you do? Do tell... You blithering idiot - you have no idea, NO IDEA, based on my posts, what my knowledge base is. I stand by my original statement - when a leader leads a nation down a pathway upon which history casts doubt, it is the duty of the rank and file to question and challenge that leader to do the right thing and, if necessary, cast him aside in favor of one who will do what is right. It doesn't matter whether it is Fascism or Communism or Idi Aminism or Howdy-Doody-ism. Contrary to what you seem to infer from these posts, I do not imply anything like overthrow. I am a solid Constitutionalist, including all the rights - ALL of them - that the Conservatives in the US like to support or denounce, depending on their mood. I can wait unitl it's time to throw the bum out legally. But that is certainly not surprising considering the pathetic state of our education system. So how do you come by your expert knowledge? An education system that has become Socialist and conveniently omits the history of these hineous regimes. That is exactly what Fascist and Communist regimes do in their "education' camps. That's not what I learned in school - My history teachers were rabid on showing the reckless venom of Stalinism and Fascism, and the value of our still best Constitutional government. Don't fool yourself, Bunky, those guys still represent, for me, the greatest villainy of all time. Jefferson and Franklin are still my heroes. Apparently not yours, though...sounds like you'd like to see King Georgy-Doody keep on going for awhile You seem to have not gotten this type of education. Where were you brought up, Bright Boy? So in a sense, you are correct. This country is turning into a Fascist Communist state. Screwball. Unfortunately for you, your barking up the wrong tree. As the CSNY said: "Teach your children well." Hollow opinions, like so much on the internet. I suggest you stop reading the Left-Wing propaganda blogs Never read 'em and start a library of balanced reading material consisting of books from well respected authors. Such as - Rush Limbaugh? Sean Hannity? All your favorites? Name a couple. Must be balanced now - not just Republican retards (like Snakewoman - you know who). How about that stalwart of liberalism, who had opposed the Iraq war at every turn and has provided excellent rational for doing so -Pat Buchanan? Or wil you conveniently exclude him? Exactly who in hell are you talking about? In at least a few years of intensive reading you will have enough knowledge to at least coherently argue the President's competency. Why, in the end, should I bother, when all I have to go up against is the likes of you? And yes, dammit, Bush is incompetent. Bruce Jensen |
