Dont pour your limey heart out to this old Mississippi boy!,we can more
than take care of ourselfs! In 1842 we ran y'alls brits a..es down the
cornfields and all the way down to New Orleans and on back to
limeyland. We "fixed" y'alls limeyland a..es in the American
Revoluntionary War too. www.devilfinder.com Battle of New Orleans
By the way,the lady is Irish from Ireland and I am Scotch Irish by
Ancestry and I am an AMERICAN,born and raised and d..n PROUD Of It Too!
If or when London gets in big time trouble,us Americans will be dumb
enough to bail y'all out again just like we did in World War Two.Go look
around the sidewalks, the sides of the buildings over there, you can see
y'alls Firearms in there the d..n king/the d..n queen stole from
y'all. They are scared s..tless of the decent Citizens over there who
owned,,, used to own Firearms.Gun smuggling is going on over there all
the time, guess who "owns"/has "illegal" Firearms over there now!

It hasn't been 5 days yet. The storm hit on Monday morning.

Things got significantly worse on Tuesday when major breaches opened in
levees.

The disaster area covers 90,000 square miles. (233,100 square kilometers)

And the whole of England itself is about 50,000 square miles.

Soda pop cans? Here we go again. You can use chocolate to shine up the
bottom of a soda pop can to use as an emergency "magnafying glass" to
get fire started.Take two soda pop cans (beer cans will work just as
good,be sure to drink the beer out first though) and stand one can up on
a table, right at the edge of the table.Lay the other can down on the
floor horizontally, right under the can standing up on the table.Get a
yardstick or tape measure and measure the distance from the top of the
can on the table to the top of the can laying on the floor, write it
down. Then reverse the positions of the can on the table so it is
horizontal and the can on the floor is standing up.Measure that and you
will see a few inches difference.I know the reason why.Do you?

There is a guy who used to live in Lafayette County,Indiana.About five
years ago,I used to get to the Cork,Ireland,Examiner online newspaper
chat room that the Examiner used to have.Lots of folks from America and
Ireland and a few other Countries used to show up in there too.The guy
in Indiana fell in love with a divorced woman near
Newcastle,England, somewhere over there. She was divorced with a few
kids.He wound up marrying her and moving to England.I thought,,,,
man,how crazy can you be!?

Questions I ask?
# Why was the National Guard not fully mobilised BEFORE the terrible
tragedy?

Wouldnt they be in harms way as well?

# The mayor asked people to leave the day before, but why was this not

made mandatory and every assistance given?

NO has hundreds of thousands of people, you cant evacuate everyone.

# Why were police reserves and rescue services not activated at the first
dire warnings several days beforehand?

Activated to where?

I think it was dxAce who said that no one had ever had a tragedy on such a
scale before affecting a city of one million.
That is disingenuous - the fact is that the mighty U.S.A. has the biggest
and best resources on earth, the best brains, the best technology and
logistics, in fact every facility that the best in the world can provide

to
mitigate and ameliorate such a disaster, yet too little was done too late.

Mother nature always wins, period.

I'm sorry fella's, instead of trying to give poor old Mike a stuffing, you
should rather ferret out those slimy bureaucrats and politicians who are
responsible for this gigantic SNAFU.

Politicans are full of hot air, but not enough to cause a hurricane.

Unfortunately most folks simply do not comprehend the scale of the disaster nor
what it takes to mobilize relief on that scale and the logistics involved.

They have little patience for anything these days and if it can't be magically
accomplished 'yesterday' then there must be something seriously wrong.

I pity them, for they are truly the clueless.
