KTRH has gotta beam towards the west and south because KRMG Tulsa operates 25000 watts at night on 740 MHz towards the east and north. Here in the Chicago area, 740 is dominated by CHWO at night. I'm not that far from you and I can pick out KTRH using a Terk loop with a Boston Recepter on the night stand. It isn't usually armchair copy but when conditions are very good it is easily readable. Besides KTRH & WBAP I don't know of any other MW stations in Tejas that are in hurricane Rita's strike zone and can make it out of the Southwest. WOAI 1200 |
