RHF - This is the kind of partisan invective that makes people cringe. "Limited to their homes and church"? You can pray anywhere you want. You can pray in school. You can pray at the mall, the car wash, a tittie bar. Who cares where you pray? The issue is compelling everyone in the place to pray along with you. The role of government is not to compel kids to pray in school. They can meet in groups and pray before school, like they do in communities near me. The school athletes can join the Christian athlete's group - whatever it's called. They can meet together and pray before the big game, right there on the football field - or afterward. No one is violating their first amendment rights. Just don't ask me to stand up and beg Jesus to help the fighting, marauding Red Devils to slaughter the cowardly Blue Devils for the district championship. Not in a public stadium. Keep it to yourself. And leave my kids alone. If I want them to pray I'll take care of it myself. And one more word of advice. You need to quit listening to so much right-wing talk radio. They have sold you a bill of goods which you can't seem to stop regurgitating. Democrats are not anti-Christian, they're not all atheists. The pejorative "liberal" has been used so much that it has lost its sting. So the new buzzword from the right is now "secularist". Give me a break! God isn't a Republican. Are you so insecure in your religious beliefs that you need everyone to agree with your view? Greg |

Greg - Kindly address your concerns for a Free and Open Society
to FDR and DaviD who would ban Persons-of-Fatih from our Public Schools; and eliminate their abiltiy to simply be themselves. ~ RHF |

I'm not for banning anything. I do support keeping religious philosophy out of science classes. That the Christians in this country claim to be oppressed is the height of absurdity. They are coddled almost everywhere. They will be happy until they have infected our public institutions, which are wisely banned by the Constitution from promoting any religion. |

C'mon RHF, you're smarter than that. No one is "banning" persons of faith from public school. If you want to worship, that's fine. That's your right. But don't compel others to follow suit. Not in public schools or public places. What's so hard to understand about that? Greg |

The Supremes are working hard to violate the Constitution by establishing that the official State religion is atheism. -- If John McCain gets the 2008 Republican Presidential nomination, my vote for President will be a write-in for Jiang Zemin. |

I believe the ban is only against organized group prayer. The 1 on 1 kind is still OK, as the thought police are still developing their brain scanning machine. An athletic team praying for a victory is blasphemy. |

Also, does this preclude a secular school from throwing a 'Hail Mary Pass'? Why do I know this feeble attempt at humor will fail? |
