BD, Well in your opinion what new 'portable' AM/FM Shortwave Radios and Table Top Receivers are out-there to compare the Eton E1 Radio to ? How about comparing it to the older 'real German' Grundigs or the ICF- SW77 for build quality, sensitivity and sound? It would be nice to know how it measures up to the expensive rigs. -- Brian Denley http://home.comcast.net/~b.denley/index.html |

Much better...no comparison. I've got the Tecsun BCL2000, BCL 3000, Degen
DE-1103 and several others...none even approach the E-1's build quality, reception or feature set. Jay wrote in message ... How does it compare with the Kaito and Degen radios? cuhulin |

I Say them E1's can't hold a candle to many, many old model Radios as far
as build quality is concerned.Hey,those E1's,,,, you are looking at cheap plastic, which reminds me of Bo Gritz's (or was it Chuck Harder's radio talk show?) radio talk show he used to have when an old guy said he sent his Sangean ATS 909 radio back to ccrane when he saw it had a plastic cabinet.Humph!,two bits worth of cheap melt in the hot sun plastic! cuhulin |

www.devilfinder.com Virtual tour Eton Radio factory in India
Well,I don't know,,,, there just might be a virtual tour somewhere on the internet.Did Drake have a virtual tour,or does Ten-Tec or Palstar? I have worked in factorys before and sometimes there would be some tour groups touring around. When I was a kid in school,we once toured the Coca Cola bottleing plant on Highway 80.We got a free Coca Cola and a free hamburger too. cuhulin |

I just can't see spending that kind of money for that kind of a portable
radio.I think $140.00 (or less) is about what them E1's should be priced at.Besides, who can afford them anyway?,,, Surely not most people who live in third World Countries! and most Americans are not going to gobble them up,,,,, be realistic. cuhulin |

BD,
Build Quailty ? The 'new' Etón E1 AM/FM Shortwave Receiver with XM Satellite Radio -=V=- http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ETON-E...o/message/1534 The 'older' Grundig Satellit 500 and 700 Radios I do not know of a 'portable' AM/FM Shortwave Radio being made today that can compare to the Build Quality of one of the 'old' Grundig Satellit 500 and 700 Radios. TBL - The Build Quality of the Etón E1 AM/FM Shortwave Receiver with XM Satellite Radio is as good as (IMHO Better Than Most) any Plastic Cases 'portable' AM/FM Shortwave Radio being made today [.] But - IMHO - The Performance of the Etón E1 AM/FM Shortwave Receiver with XM Satellite Radio is 'superior' to both of the above 'older' Grundig Radios. FWIW - I do not own a Grundig Satellit 500 and 700 Radios; and I have only handled and play with (listented to) a Grundig Satellit 700 Radio for a few hours about a two years ago. A very impressive Radio. Note - This guy had gone through three eBay Grundig Satellit 700 Radios to find a keeper.
