Default Comparing the Icom IC-R75 to the Eton E1 Radio - Three MajorProblems . . .

I guess I don't get it, really. The E1 is a good, if overpriced,
portable receiver. Why isn't that enough? Do we have to be "loyal" to
the E1 and does this "loyalty" require us to shortchange the R75 and
all other receiver that are obviously a cut above the E1? This is the
kind of attitude people took toward the Sat 800 and I hate to see it
happen again, with the E1.

i'm with you on this Steve. can't see where Icom meant the R75 to be
portable. the E1 is way over priced. a few posters say cheap plastic
and not much of a handle. i don't need the sat/XM whatever. the R75
is a proven performer at that price range, and so is the Sat800- which
can be found at a much lower price. i have too many portables now.
i don't need to buy the newest whiz-bang radio. if the E1 ever drops
to maybe $300 or so, i may take a second look. to each his own...
