ups.com... - Wondered.. Have a non SSB portable that whistles in a descending tone as you tune in a station.. Is this the same thing as sync detect?? If not, is there a name for it? It could be a synchronous detector. If the tone rapidly disappears as the pitch gets very low and the signal is clear and stays that way (for a stable signal), it is. What make and model is the radio? Knowing that, someone would be able to answer your question definitely. Tom |
