Not to appear as Sir Doyle the Dense or anything, (too late!) but I actually learned of BPL and its effects on Shortwave just this morning. According to PtWBR, BPL *does* interfere with ("jam" if you like) shortwave signals. And according to PtWBR the Feds, supposedly, are keen on the idea of BPL ("supposedly"). In a macabre way, it's fascinating that a medium that is relatively hard to jam/comtrol (shortwave) can be hampered by a medium that's (comparatively) easier to control. Granted, according to "Passport." the interference can be countered with good antenna placement. Still, it makes one wonder... Just call me "Jiffy Pop!" I wish it was true that you could counter BPL interference with antenna placement. Well maybe if you move the antenna to the next county. -- Telamon Ventura, California |
