Hi RHF.
RHF wrote: First Question - Is your External AC-to-DC Power Adapter designed for your standard AC Power Outlet {Input} in Singapore : [ ] 220/240 VAC ? -or- [ ] 110/120 VAC ? Problem - Trying to use a 110/120 VAC Adapter with a 220/240 VAC Source ? Yes, I'm using a 240 VAC source which matches the AC power outlet in Singapore. Second Question - Right Adapter Plug SIze : Make sure that you are using the Biggest Size "OD" Adapter that 'fits' your Sangean ATS-606 Radio's 4.5 VDC Input Jack. - Why - Sometimes the Radio's External DC Input Jack has a built-in Mechancal Switch that 'disconnects' the Batteries from the Radio when External DC Power is being used. Yes, according to the radio manual, the radio has an inbuilt switch which disconnects the batteries when external DC power is used. In fact, when I connected the AC-DC adaptor to my radio which is operating on batteries, the LCD display goes blank. Third Question - Batteries Getting Hotter : Then first of all - Unplug the External AC-to-DC Power Adapter from the AC Power Input and the Radio. Next - Remove the Batterys from the Radio Then - Plug the External AC-to-DC Power Adapter into the AC Power Input and the Radio. Now - Turn-On the Radio and try listening to it again. Does the Radio Work Now ? I've done that but there's still nothing. :-( |
