So if they drop the code requirement will current techs be able to get

on HF
without retesting?

I'd imagine so. They would then most likely be eligible for the Tech Plus

(Tech
Plus passed the 5 WPM test) privileges which allow voice, CW and digital
operation on 10 meters, and CW on the 80, 40, and 15 meter bands.

To get more privileges they'd have to pass the General Class element(s) of

the
exam.

So what HF privs are they thinking of giving to techs?

may be none maybe tech plus stuff who knows not even the FCC yet

Then why don't you have your Advanced?

All that requires is a little paperwork...

What does that have to do with being 'into' radio?
