When you are glass beading or sand blasting,be sure to wear a good
respirator that has good filters and a face shield.Unless you do the
work using an enclosed box. There are plans on the internet about how to
build your own sand blasting box.Silicosis of the lungs isn't a good
thing.

I would just buy a can or two of good paint stripper and give that a
try.I own three sand blasters, one of them I built using a big steel tank
I bought at a junk yard, and the other one is a dinky little sand blaster
I bought for about twelve dollars at a Wal Mart store and the other one
is a little spot blaster/sand blaster I bought from Eastwood Company.

www.tinmantech.com I have tried Must For Rust and it works great.

It was a cheapie unit from Harbor Freight. 64 dollars, with a 40 pound
capacity. Thanks for the tip on the respirator. I was thinking about making
some sort of box with a plexiglass cover when I do the blasting.

Forced air ventilation would be best for that type of work in addition to
the respirator, those face masks that puff in and out when you talk just
wont do.

You could make a simple box out of plywood and cut two holes for long
vinyl heavy duty industrial type of gloves (cut a couple of plywood
rings and use screws to fasten the gloves to the box in case you ever
need to replace the gloves) for your hands and mount a piece of glass or
rigid plastic (check out some auto junk yards) on the front of the
plywood box and have your own sand blasting/bead blasting
cabinet.Perhaps add a hole on the rear of the box with a piece of
plastic or metal tubing and put the vacuum hose to an old vacuum cleaner
on the pipe.A rig like that, you would probally find handy to use many
times.

last week I bought a new old stock 7 line case for $20 shipped

I also noticed something about Hartzell charging $25 for the repaint job
so that may
be a good way to go.

Many years ago I made my own sand blasting gun.(I still have it too) For
nozzle tips,I cut off some 1/4 inch diameter bolts and I center drilled
the bolts with my drill press.Them little tips, the first time I used
them, you could see the sand wallowing out them little holes like an old
BB gun wildly wayyyy off center.Them little tips worked ok for a few
minutes. It was worth a try anyway.
