For instance, it provides random noise reduction and auto-notch filters. These help get rid of backgound noise and heterodynes (squeals). While it does reduce noise it doesn't enhance the ability to ID a station. It is kind of cool for taking the tones off WWV. These things really shine when using the digital modes, so I'm told. |
