So what time are you listening them in UTC hours?

Where are you located? The middle east can be hard to get out here out
he west coast.

15:30 for 1 hour in southern Australia,i think it is good to hear there
*voice* instead of the voice skewed by western media that is the
beauty of SW.

Here is the schedule of VOI copied from my trusty passport to world band
:)

0130-0230 6120,9495,9665,11875 (n america)
1030-1130 15460,15480,15600,17660 (s asia)
1530-1630 7330 9635 9940(audible in AUS) 11650 (s asia & SE asia)
1930-2030 6010 7205 7320 9800 9855 9925 11695 11860 (europe,s
africa,europe)

All those programs are the English ones

Thanks for the schedule. I'll give it a try.

I just like listening to short wave broadcasts from a distance, radios,
playing with antennas and the content of course. I learned long ago to
value the direct broadcast over the USA media's take on it. Listening to
a direct broadcast from another country usually resulted in a very
different view being expressed. Never trust just one source.

The US media is controlled by a few large corporations beholden to their
friends in the US govt. News is considered entertainment. Substantive
news is nearly impossible to come by, as the big corporate media is too
busy reporting "human interest stories". Ecuador is in chaos but the US
media doesn't care. The army has dramatically stepped up its bombing of
Iraq but the "investigative reporters" won't touch it. I regularly
listen to the BBC for regular news and Radio Havana for stories that the
US media won't touch with a 39 foot pole.

What chaos in Ecuador are you talking about? People protesting the Pan
American highway and a incursion by the Colombian military chasing some
drug runners doesn't sound like chaos to me. There are some election
rallies or protests about trade agreements but so what?

Supposedly, they have the entire country shut down. Shortages of food,
major highways blocked, etc. I suppose that the reports I heard, mostly
over the BBC, have been exaggerated (journalists will be journalists),
but it sure sounds bad. Then again it could be localized to Quito (the
protests) and the reporters are indeed flying off the handle with
statements like "will the system hold together long enough to have new
elections?" Bolivia has this sort of thing happening in La Paz all the
time and life goes on, even in the cities.

I know this is going to be lost on you because someone of your mental
caliber has no clue but on the very slim chance you might just get it
this is not an off topic thread. I'm complaining about posters such as
yourself that crap up the on topic threads with off topic posts.

Now I know it hard for you to hold on to a thought for more than 10
seconds but give it try anyway or just go away.

LOL!!!

Very interesting...320 posts, almost all of them political per se, not
complaints about OT posts. (Sorry, didn't have time to read all 320, but
the ones I did read *clearly* demonstrated the irony).

I think "hypocrisy" defines our boy up on his high horse quite well. Yet
another example of "Do as I say, not as I do".

....and *YOU* weren't OT with most, if not all, of those 320 posts you
made???? Maybe you better try actually reviewing and re-reading them
before you deny doing what you accuse others of.

You and whatever have a high number of off posts. You and whatever
generally do not post helpful replies to questions. You and whatever can
point back to a period of time during a contentious election and that's
it for me but you and whatever are a different story. Do continue
looking like a clueless jackass as you do in most of your posts.

And you are on topic here? What are you adding to the topic? Nothing.
You could choose to be positive or negative and you chose the latter.
What does that say about you?

Wow - that is the 'Pot calling the kettle black'.

Telamon - you're a real jerk that we know. Still nice to have the
proof though. And it's all there... oh yea.... right there.
