Default Sick Sony ICF-2010

I have a sick Sony ICF-2010. I hadn't used it for several years and when I
tried it recently, I got stations but the sensitivity didn't seem up to par.
I replaced the front end FET to no effect. When I try the SYNC function to
lock in a signal, the signal distorts and does not synch.

Any ideas? I was going to offer it on E-Bay but I hate to sell an
"as-is"unit that is not working properly.

If you're looking to repair, then I'd suggest you visit the Yahoo '2010
group. There's a group member by the name of Noel who does repair work
on the '2010.

I can vouch for Noel Ramos. I had him fix my SW-77 (which isn't even his
specialty) and was impressed with the speed, quality and price...

Ray has fixed and tupgraded two ICF-2010 radios for me and he is super.
I bought a used SW100S from Noel and he was great to deal with.
Either would be a great choice.

There are so many things to love about the ICF-2010, I don't think you
can go wrong fixing it. I use mine almost exclusively for AM/FM
broadcast listening, but it is nice to have the air and sw bands
available. It really shines in sw broadcast.

For ham listening, I prefer hf tranceivers or the Eton E1 or Drake
R8B.

My two cents plus a couple pennies too many.
