Same goes for the Cal-PERS and Cal-STRS who's
politically motived 'Social Investing' programs have
cut the penson checks of many needy retired state
employees.

I encourage anyone reading this living in California to comment to the
CPUC. You can do it on line as they have a comment form it is easy as
posting here.

If this means anything I for one don't think the life of the BPLOSAURUS
is going to be a long one. Too many other kick ass ways of getting
signals down the toob. 60Hz power lines are just that. It's no wonder
repeaters are needed every so often as the article relates. Coax,
glass fiber, wifi-cellular, satcom, and technologies like this are what
we're all after. Services like fast scan videophone and movies on
demand are almost here. They aint gonna be goin down the power lines
though.

Don't just sit around waiting for this dinosaur to become extinct by
itself. Help out wherever you can. Make noise as Mr Telemon said. I
don't know if a link was posted (by Telemon) to make comments to. ARRL
is fighting as well and that takes money. Some people don't like ARRL,
but I don't know if any other orgs fighting. Anybody??? Hell, I would
order BPL just to figure out a good way to jam it. And those BPL
boxes are really obvious. Like a big red bulbous zit on the end of
your nose. I'm not advocating messing with BPL boxes here. Heheh.

No problem, people do it all the time, more often wrong than right
actually so you get editorial bones points for noticing.

This is the home page of CPUC.
http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/

Here is the page to leave a comment for the commissioners.
Just click on the link below "Online comments /feedback" and you will
get a popup form so you might have to stop your popup blocker to get it
to work. Just type the information in the form and click submit. You
will get an automatic email response that they got your message.
http://www.cpuc.ca.gov/static/contactus/index.htm

This is for Californian's so please use a web site representing your
state commission if you live in another state.

I'm concerned that BPL is actually a red hearing and that the real
reason is for telemetry so the power company can read your meter
remotely. This means every house will have interference whether you or
your neighbors have an Internet service provider and BPL is really just
a way to get the public to accept power line communications.

There is no logically know way to stop the radio interference problem
resulting from BPL. This problem is not fixable. It is a known fact that
you will have a problem with any radio service using the same
frequencies as BPL uses. The commissioners have to be aware of the other
trial failures and to go ahead anyway means that they don't care about
the problem so complain and make them care.

Listeners who hear BPL interference should complain to the FCC.

The ARRL has been helpful in identifing the various sorts interference which
BPL makes. I'm sure there will be more information at their website. It
would be counterproductive to incorrectly identify interference as caused
BPL when it isn't. The BPL industry tries to use incorrect complaints to
discredit all complaints.

The most effective complaints will probably be those concerned with public
safety communications concerning interference with aircraft and coast guard
communications, as well as military and utility communications.
