I still have mine. I bring it out from time to time so that
the kids can listen to it; it works well on a 40'-50' wire.

One thing I did notice is that no one mentioned owning
the unlamented DX-360, which was sold around the
same time as the 440.

Since you all seem to know radios and know the ones radio shack offers,
maybe you could make a recommendation for me.:

I would like to know a good CHEAP handi - talki that I could get from
Radio Shack. But I need one with pretty good sound quality -- not too
concerned about how far it will pick up -- just want to start out small
with my first radio.
Oh, and I can't put up atenas and grounds all around my house either so
keep that in mind. '

Thanks.

Okay, I'll fess up, I've got one buried in with the rest of them. It still
looks like it did when I bought it, probably hasn't been turned on 6 times.
It is in bad need of a few shots of deoxit. RM~

I remember having to try to sell those as an RS employee back in 1991-92,

and I simply couldn't do it.

I picked this one up at a garage sale for a couple of dollars 10 - 15 years
ago. I probably wouldn't have got it had it not been in such good condition
and cheap. I had my grandson in mind but never did give it to him, think it
got pushed aside and forgotten. RM~
