Would you have seen a small radio like that have the kind of sound quality that it does? That's been a big improvement. Years ago, to get hi-fi sound, you would have needed a console with a 12" or 15" speaker. Or a table-top with at least an 8" speaker. To squeeze that kind of quality out of a 3" driver back then....I don't know if it was possible. Then there's the FM tuner section - compare it with one of those drifty, deaf Sarkes-Tarzian or Granco FM units from the 60s? Not even close. How about a more fair comparison: The KLH Model 21. I have one of these, and it's still going strong, no repairs ever. And it's only 45 years old! -- Eric F. Richards, "It's the Din of iBiquity." -- Frank Dresser |
