Default (OT) : Truth-in-Posting - Put and "(OT) : " at the start of the Subject Line

Radio Buff {SC},

Truth-in-Posting - I put an (OT) : at the start of the Subject Line
and the Subject Line clearly describes what the Thread had
evolved into :
"The Mystery of the Burrito - Unwrap the Riddle of . . ."
which was from my original post about :
"Every 50 KW Clear Channel In The USA With A Difference"

FWIW - When the Thread 'evolves' Change the Subject Line
of the Thread so that the current Topic of discussion is
understood; and that various separate strings within the
Thread can be followed independently by all Readers and
Posters of the Thread.

Especially - "IF" - The Thread goes Off-Topic and the
Focus of the Thread has change put an "(OT) :" at
the start of the Subject Line and Re-Title the Thread.

when all else fails - turn on the radio

How about a more fair comparison: The KLH Model 21.

What a flashback! My first 'hi-fi' radio.
Got turned on to it back when I had a Singer record player and learned
that KLH was the manufacturer who also had several other items in their
line of compact audio equipment.

Well, the Tivoli Model One should have been a real flashback, modeled
to look like a 2/3 scale Model 21 -- the driver is only a fraction of
an inch smaller in diameter, but the Model 21 has a real acoustic
suspension speaker and (gasp!) high-fidelity from *transistors!*

My point, of course, is while the Tivoli is a fine radio, it's more a
modern reprise on Kloss' idea of a low-cost, high fidelity radio for
anywhere in the house.

Unfortunately, I've read some rumblings about its durability -- we'll
see how mine is performing in 2045.

RHF,did you ever see that Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs restaurant in
Oakand? It had a greatttt big sign on there with pictures of Snow White
and the Seven Dwarfs In January 1964,myself and a few other guys had
lunch there once.I believe the restaurant was on San Pablo Blvd in
Oakland. The guy who ran the place wouldn't let us pay for our meals when
we told him we were going to Vietnam.I would like to see a picture of
that restaurant again.

Eric,

What sort of rumblings have you heard? I do remember my first one
flaking out on its FM tuner. It was still under warranty (almost a
month before expiring) and I sent it to Tivoli.

They sent a new radio. That was about three or four years ago. It's
been OK, so far.

I do remember the switches on the first generation radios were a bit
stiff.

Apparently they are using a different type of switch because this one
doesn't require so much wrist-twisting.
