Yes, I was watching an old episode if the Andy Griffith show and if you've ever watched it you know that there's some radio gear on top of the desk next to Sheriff Taylor's, right where Barney Fife normally sits. One of them looks sort of like a Drake R-4C, but the particular episode I watched didn't offer a good shot. Does anyone know what this gear is? And by the way, what a classic show! Still in wide syndication forty years after it aired. Compare it to the crap that's aired nowadays and it really makes you think. Steve Hi Steve, In the early episodes, the radio was a Motorola business band radio. The whip on the squad car indicated VHF-LO (30-50MHz). Later episodes featured an Eico CB transceiver along side an Eico 720 80-10M CW only transmitter- with a mic plugged in the front! Dale W4OP for PAR Electronics, Inc. |
