On the internet, nobody knows you're a jerk.

And, to add from the same link:

"As much as I'd like to hear Georgetown basketball games in this
clarity next year, however, I probably won't; FCC regulations prohibit
AM HD broadcasts after dark, lest they interfere with the reception of
distant AM signals."

FCC regulations permit HD from 6 AM or Sunrise, whichever is earlier to 6 PM
or sunset, whichever is later. There is no specific prohibition for the rest
of the night hours, because that has not been decided on yet. There is a
current LIMITATION, not a specific prohibition.

Ah, semantics !

There are over 1000 HD stations on the air. There are commitments for
several thousand more. It already happened.

We shall see - many experts disagree with you.

Like any change, there will be some who disagree. They are very few in
number.

There is no
interest/demand for HD/IBOC radio, from the general public.

Of course there isn't. The poromotion of HD on a massive scale just began
and the 2.0 design spec receivers have not arrived at retail yet.

Keep in mind that in the first 3 years of FM stereo, only about 100 stations
converted. It took FM as a band another 8 to 10 years to become economically
viable after stereo was introduced, and much had to do with government
"forced" regulation. It took 6 years for portable CD players to drop below
$200... and that is about $300 in today's dollars.

Actually,
many stations have turned off their HD/IBOC equipment, due to listener
complaints and/or interference to other stations !

Name me 10 who have. And that would be 10 out of over 1000 HD stations on
the air, and nearly 2000 licensed by iBiquity.

Note: in several cases, HD has not worked with highly directional AMs with
high Q phasers and old transmission equipment. That is a management problem,
not an HD problem.

Back in 2003, after WOR started IBOC transmissions, two other stations
owned by MRBI (Multicultural Radio Broadcasting) joined the fray.

WPAT-AM 93 fired up IBOC for a bit and then WZRC-1480 did.

The exciters were turned off shortly thereafter. Haven't been turned
on since. Why this is, I don't know. Maybe there are still bugs to be
worked out in the transmitter plants at these two stations?

Here are the ten and your "thousand" on-air is B.S:

I wouldn't expect anything less, from someone who markets sleazy IBOC.
IBOC will die -
there are too many technical problems:

That list is woefully out of date, and does not include FMs. In fact, more
than half the AM stations I work with are that are HD operations are
missing...

It is even missing important HD stations like WJR and KGO which are 50 kw
clear channel operations.

I wouldn't expect anything less, from someone who markets sleazy IBOC.
IBOC will die -

I do not market HD. I use it.

There are nearly 2,000 stations with HD licenses, and over 1000 on the air.
Tell me how that is a lack of interest.

What a joke - that doesn't mean **** ! Do you really think consumers
are going to pay for
digital radio and a fee to sign up/listen ! Satellite radio is already
deeply in debt, because
of that same reason ! What a ****ing joke you are ! Consumers have no
interest in purchasing digital radios to listen to AM/FM !
