Interestingly enough, this person couldn't recall ever selling one even though they carry two different models. OK - that's reasonable considering HD radio is only just starting to take off. It's obvious to me that HD radio is being force feed to the public and has nothing to do with letting the market decide. How is the government force feeding HD radio to the public. The only way I can think of for the public to make a market-based decision on HD radio is to have them listen to real broadcasts on receivers capable of catching HD channels. Indeed the market will decide if HD is a success or not. IF a lot of people listen to broadcasts over HD channels then advertisers will flock to those radio stations and it will by definition be a market- based success. IF on the other hand very few people buy HD radios and tune into those stations then advertisers won't advertise and HD radio will be a market-based failure. But the only way to find out is to allow the marketplace of consumers to make a decision to listen or not listen. It's a sad day when government no longer represents us but controls us. My my, are you feeling controlled again? Maybe it's those voices you hear late at night. Yes, those eerie voices that command you to buy all manner of consumer goods like HD radios. The voices that seem to come from under your bed, but when you get up the courage to look there you find nothing. Dear Roadie, Have a nice day! Regards, rfburns |

Now that I have your undivided attention I'll try again: How is the government force feeding HD radio to the public. How is allowing listeners to vote on the viability of HD radio by choosing to tune in or tune out not a market based decision. |
