About a month ago I bought two DXE-ARAV-1P for phasing on MediumWave/
Shortwave. These are excellent antennas phased or alone. I am have now erected a 500' Beverage antenna (Terminated) and a 100' Pennant antenna. So the active antenna, although is a workhorse, does not work as well as my beverage and Pennant. As we all know no Active antenna can take the place of these type of antennas. These Active antennas are quiet and the very best antennas for when you don't have room for the longer wires. They cost $229.00 each. I am willing to let them go for $350.00 shipped. The catch is not sending the 102" whip antenna which adds a lot to shipping. These are your everyday 102" whips...no coils, straight stainless steel. I have used these outside and sealed them using coax seal so they can be opened without a problem. Check the DXengineering website and eham.net for reviews on these outstanding receive antennas. I also have a Quantum Phaser I'll throw in and make the deal $400.00 the cost new for all of this straight on including shipping would be $630.00. Local pick up can be arranged for cash only..or maybe you have something for a good trade. Located in Newark,Delaware...email me kyw1060 at verizon.net. I left the @ out so spam bots don't get my e-mail address. I use the DX engineering NCC-1 phasing unit with superb results. The Quantum Phaser is an excellent choice when you're counting dollars......no tire kickers, however I'll be glad to answer questions and can send you audio clips of BBC on Longwave using the the Active antennas...Voltage injecters have never been used as the NCC-1 supplies the voltage to the DXE-ARAV-1P |
