This would be funny if I didn't own one of their diesel generators.
Note how they spell 'Quality'. It say it all. http://www.launtop.cn/partlist.asp None of the PDF files download properly. Then I find out they've recalled my generator because of possible counterfeit CSA certification of electrical components. When am I going to LEARN? ====================================== TORONTO, ON – September 26, 2007 – CSA International, in cooperation with Fuzhou Launtop M&E Co. Ltd. and Better Source Asia, of Fuzhou City, China announces a voluntary recall of approximately 30,000 gasoline-and diesel-powered generators. The affected models were produced with uncertified circuit protectors, circuit breakers, receptacles and wiring and do not meet the applicable standards. The uncertified components and wiring may pose a shock and/or fire hazard. In addition, some generators may have circuit breakers bearing counterfeit (unauthorized use) registered trademarks belonging to CSA International. No incidents or injuries have been reported related to the affected generators. This recall affects all gasoline models rated for 950 W, 1200 W, 2500 W, 3000 W, 3800 W, 5000 W, and 6500 W and diesel models rated for 2200 W, 3600 W, 5000 W, 5500 W and 6000 W. The affected models may bear a CSA mark with or without file numbers 223771 or 233220. These generators were sold in Canada and the United States under the brand names Alternative Power Source, Aurora, CM, Elim International, Ener G, Genertek, Launtop, Portland, Power on the Go, Red Maple. The units were sold by retail, equipment auction houses and internet outlets for between $160.00 to $2,300.00 CDN http://www.csa-international.org/pro...nguage=english ======================================= -- __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / / / /\ \ /'Think Tanks Cleaned Cheap'/ /\ \/ / /_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ Densa International© For the OTHER two percent. My favorite is to shoot clocks, ones with big mainsprings that explode when you hit them in the right place. My friend owns a jewelry store, and they get crappy old clocks in all the time for repairs that are never picked up when the owner gets the estimate for repairs that are several times what the clock itself is worth after repairs. One time, a spring flew an amazing distance when one of us hit it with a 44 magnum hollow point. There wasn't much left of the clock itself, and the spring flew about 150 feet like a snake being tossed. Very impressive. What a mess to clean up... My high point, or lack of it, was finding an old TV set in the dump we used to shoot in. Visions of a small atomic bomb blast came to our young minds. We set up about fifty feet away and with quite a bit of worry and excitement, let loose on the screen with the 22 bolt actions. I still remember, with some bitterness, the absolute lack of anything resembling excitement. There may have been a slight hiss of air entering the holes. It must have been slight as it went pretty much unnoticed. That's when I learned that the anticipation usually exceeds the acquisition. mike -- __ __ __ __ __ __ __ __ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / /\ / / / /\ \ /'Think Tanks Cleaned Cheap'/ /\ \/ / /_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ \/_/ Densa International© For the OTHER two percent. Maybe the tube was already broken (nipple on the neck broken off). CRT's don't do much when you shoot them from the front, anyway... because they're designed not to implode in that direction for safety purposes. Same friend as my above post and myself took a particularly problematic TV (we had repaired it and sold it, and it kept coming back with new problems) down to his basement, set it up against the woodpile, got out a .22, .45 and a couple small rifles. We turned the set on (reruns of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman were running), and opened up on it. The picture went away pretty quickly.. what with four slugs immediately into the CRT, with no implosion. The sound took longer. I think it finally went when we popped a few into the tuner.. ![]() so we apparently missed the power transformer, switch and associated circuitry.. but it was great fun. |

One thing that never disappoints is old melons that are past their prime. We get them from a store's trash bin, and with hollow points, and a .357,.45, or a .44 mag, they explode nicely, and are totally biodegradable. -- BDK BDK Klan leader? kOOk Magnet!
