he was governor. He opposed payroll withholding because he wanted the
little people to feel the pain when they paid their tax bills. As one
of the elite, he also carefully engineered the exemptions and credits
on his ranch so he and his wealthy Bircher friends would not owe any
taxes. No wonder the rich canonized him!
