Ive been hearing a fairly stong US Coast Guard broadcast in the 8 mhz
USB area recently. The station ID's as "something" Chesapeake. He says the first word so fast i cant understand him. I'm guessing this is coming from the Chesapeake Bay area but im not sure. Anyone ever hear this?? What is he saying?? Thanks alot |

He's probably ID'ing as CAMSLANT CHESAPEAKE. You were more than likely listening to 8983 USB which is a Coast Guard aero frequency. They are also quite active on 5696 USB. If propagation is good, or depending upon your location, CAMSPAC POINT REYES in California can also be heard. Generally you'll hear the stations working Coast Guard helicopters and other CG aircraft. Worked like a charm. tuned into 8.983 USB & BINGO, traffic from Chesapeake. Hey you guys,
I'm on the east side of the mountains, wonder what might fall over the mountains. As we speck I am picking up some "rumble" on 5696k. Someone please send me a list of CG freq.'s for the west coast and south west coast. Burr Grundig's Sat800&650,YB400&FR200 Drake SW8 Scanners BC 895&245XLT Sangean DT110(for Ball Games) Also Have a Clock Radio!!! N35.3582 W117.4157 South Left Coast, U.S.A. |

In the winter I also get Kodiak. I am in SoCal.
