Poorly - which led me to trade it away.

The 1 khz tuning scheme on that radio is one of the goofiest designs
ever (surpassed only by the Degen 1103 volume control adventure).

If you're asking _whether_ it works, it's not sophisticated, but it
_does_ work well enough to tune in an SSB signal and understand it. I've
used it to listen to radio amateurs, military and other stations just
fine -- its bandwidth is too wide for serious communications work.

As to how to use it: To select SSB, you use the FM - FM Stereo/ SSB - AM
switch on the right side, and fine tune with the clarify control, also
on the right side. Be sure to start out with the clarify thumbwheel in
the center position (there's a notch that you can feel when it's
centered). The tuning LED turns red to let you know that SSB is
selected. You push in on the tuning knob (left side) to change from the
normal 5 kHz to 1 kHz tuning steps.
