This bounced as an email so.....

I am not familiar with the variations so unless I am missing something,
an A would be fine.

What's your price?

Would you be interested in my recapped S-40B?

http://antiqueradio.org/halli02.htm

A one-owner set when I bought it. It was stored in a box from 1969-1996. I
went through it in 1996 and it has rarely been used since then. (Why do I
keep all this stuff?)

You can send me email by going to http://antiqueradio.org/contact.htm and

Phil,
Would a Lafayette HE-10 be about the equivalent of the S-40? Mine is
mint condition, along with my restored S-38. Your website is great!

That is interesting. Are both single conversion? I know that the
HE-10 has IF Gain control and ANL, it is pretty sensitive and
selective on the BCB.

They are both single conversion. I know the HE-10 has two
IF stages, and thus fairly good selectivity. I am not sure
if the S-40 has one or two IF stages... I suspect one.
