You might have better luck if you charged
actual shipping. No way will it cost $15
to ship that little radio. And what shipping
company is charging you $5 to insure a
$100 radio? That's a rip-off too.

I don't know I just decided to clean out my shack. I don't regularly sell
stuff. I was going to use the post office to mail this stuff and have no
idea what they are going to charge. So I took a guess as to what it would
cost.

Rev Robert -- it is a free unmoderated forum -- so the profane and
inconsiderate are attracted.

Regarding a reserve in an auction -- why not just start the bidding at
$100. --- that way everyone knows the minimum from the git-gate.

Good luck with the upgrade.

I do not know why everybody is flamming my posts. Instead offer

constructive
info on how I can correct what is wrong with my auctions. I just trying to
sell off my ham and scanning equipment so I can upgrade. what is wrong

with
that? If you can't say anything nice then keep it to yourself. It's people
like you who gives these forums a bad rap. I remember when I could sit and
read these forums with my 5 yr old. Now I won't let my kids anywhere near

Not a problem:

Reserve is $100.00

**** WHY run a reserve auction, jack up the costs, jack up your price, then
give the reserve in the description? How about set a starting bid of $100 or
"Buy Now" price of $100? Spend less, charge less.

Unit is garunteed to not be DOA, But as with all electronics is sold "AS

IS"
**** That has got to be the most widely used, most absurd statement ever put
into print. Either it works properly or it does not. Period.
**** To the majority of the population, the term "AS IS" equates to "I'm
hiding something that is wrong with it, take your chances."

NOTE: Although this transceiver is capable on many bands A LICENSE *may* be

required to operate this radio.
**** It's UHF, 25w, there's virtually nowhere to transmit that isn't either
illegal or *WILL* require a license.

Shipping on this item will be $20.00 CONUS, This will cover shipping boxing

and insurance.
****And then some. The US priority mail boxes are free. Priority
shipping/insurance/delivery confirmation on 5lbs. insured for $125 from
coast to coast is $15 or less.

THEN:

There are those who believe... no, wait, that's Battlestar Galactica....
There are people who feel that the newsgroups are for SELLING, not
auctioning. Everyone knows ebay is there, and if we want to get involved in
an auction process, we will go there. If you want to advertise here, then
set a price, advertise your radio, and sell it. I'm not one who cares either
way as I have filters and I ain't skeered to use 'em.
Personally, I don't see a thing wrong with advertising an ebay auction here
IF it has a 'buy it now' price or is a set store price.
HOWEVER, most ebayers are willing to pay more than us groupers so again, you
waste time/bandwidth, etc....

There ya go, my 2¢..

I agree with him. Why let your viewers guess and bid low when possibly
you may not get your reserve when you could start it at $100 . Someone
bids on it, SOLD! No guessing, Less fees and your happy.
