Yes, it is. Just the fact that it runs off a std. 12V cig lighter adapter
makes it a good rig. Mine drove a variety of antennas and was used quite a
bit..good audio, etc. Only problem I ever had was a bit of intermod when
hooked up to a gain antenna (yagi). Std. verts on the car worked well. Good
HT for the new ham, good backup HT in general.
